Department profile of Telugu:
Established in 2003, the Department of Telugu offers Telugu as a second language for all undergraduate courses and a dedicated B.A. in Telugu Literature. The department currently has an intake capacity of 50 students for the honours course.
Classes are conducted in alignment with the syllabus prescribed by Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU). The department is committed to academic excellence, providing students with informative lectures and comprehensive study materials. This academic support has enabled the department to maintain a consistent track record of outstanding performance over the years.
Students are actively encouraged to pursue higher education and are guided in preparing for various state and national-level competitive examinations, such as APPSC, DSC, TPT, and others. The faculty members are also engaged in research and academic pursuits, contributing to the broader field of Telugu studies.
The department aims to impart in-depth knowledge of Telugu literature, linguistics, and human values, fostering a deep appreciation of cultural heritage and critical thinking among students.
