Founder
Dr. N. Narayanamma, the esteemed founder of Sri Vani Degree and PG College, was not only a renowned physician in the town of Anantapuramu but also a tireless social reformer dedicated to community service.
Her contributions extended far beyond the medical field—she ran orphanages, established a free hostel for Harijan (Dalit) girls, and founded a respected school in the town. For several decades, she selflessly served as a volunteer doctor at the Government Hospital, offering free medical services to the underprivileged on a daily basis.
With a deep understanding of the importance of education, especially for women, and recognizing the lack of quality educational institutions in the region, Dr. Narayanamma established a Junior College for girls. It began modestly with just 14 students in its first year. Through her unwavering commitment and vision, this initiative has grown into a group of thriving institutions offering Degree, Postgraduate, MBA, and MCA programs.
A true philanthropist, Dr. Narayanamma remained deeply connected to society. She generously donated several lakhs of rupees to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund during the COVID-19 pandemic and for flood relief efforts on an another occasion. She also instituted gold medals to honor and motivate students who secured university ranks.
Her passion for agriculture was equally remarkable. In her native village of Illuru, she promoted modern farming techniques and worked to raise awareness among local farmers.
Dr. N. Narayanamma’s dedication, integrity, and tireless efforts have elevated Sri Vani Educational Society to its present stature. She continues to be a guiding light and an inspiration to the faculty, students, and the broader community.
