Department profile of Statistics:

The Department of Statistics at Sri Vani Degree College, Anantapuramu, commenced its B.Sc. (Statistics) program in the academic year 1999-2000. Initially housed in the main college building, the department has since developed into a well-equipped center for statistical education and research.

Committed to quality teaching, the department employs diverse instructional tools such as models, charts, LCD projectors, and curated collections of subject-related news clippings. Interactive learning is promoted through class seminars, group discussions, quizzes, and special guest lectures by esteemed university professors, enriching the academic experience.

To support students’ academic growth, the department maintains a dedicated library with extensive resources on statistics. A fully equipped statistics laboratory features advanced scientific calculators and software tools, providing hands-on experience in data collection, sampling techniques, statistical quality control, and other applied areas. The lab also introduces students to research-oriented fields including operations research, stochastic processes, and quality control methodologies.
